Our Beginnings
Our passion for horses began at our aunt’s summer camp when we were young children. Something about working with those huge animals gave us a sense of confidence, responsibility, and freedom. In 2004, we became the proud co-owners of our first horse, and our love only grew from there. Our ownership of one mare quickly moved to two, and before we knew it, we had our own small herd of six. Years of working with various horses that crossed our path and training under several accomplished instructors has allowed us to follow our desire to become the best equestrians we can be. In 2010, we discovered a love for sharing our expertise with others in the form of summer camps and riding lessons. As a result, Whisperwood was born.
Through the process of learning and teaching, it has become apparent to us that this sport can aid in developing valuable life skills, especially teamwork, perseverance, grit, discipline, and communication. We’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the effect of these qualities on our lives as well as others who have been touched by their experiences with horses. Our love for the sport, the animals, and the people God places in our path as a result of this endeavor grows each day, and we are looking forward to many more years in this business.

Facilities
Whisperwood is conveniently located right off of Route 15 between Gettysburg and Harrisburg, PA. Situated on 44 acres of countryside with a scenic view of the mountains and a small lake, it boasts a renovated craftsman-style farm house and a matching horse barn attached to an antique bank barn. The horse barn is connected to a 3-acre pasture and contains six roomy 12x12 box stalls. There is also a 2-stall barn with half an acre of pasture. The ring has a sand/stonedust mixture and measures at 100x150' with several hunter-style jumps. A large grass arena is also available to ride on as well as 1.5 miles of mowed trails that border the property, which include a few cross-country jumps spread throughout. A large tack room, full course of jumps, and heated wash stall are in the process of being built.
